Sylvia Russell

Sylvia Russell is a resident of Marin County.  She became interested in activism during the first Obama Presidential Campaign, during which she dedicated her volunteer efforts to phone banking.  Then, Sylvia applied her energy and enthusiasm to significant work in volunteering during the Hillary Presidential Campaign. Asked to attend a training session for volunteer leaders in Las Vegas, she became a Hillary Campaign phone bank trainer, canvassing leader and Caucus Captain. Sylvia then ran and was elected as a Hillary delegate to the Democratic National Convention. Afterwards, Sylvia became one of the Marin leaders running the Marin for Hillary office. Sylvia's primary responsibility as Head Phone Bank Trainer was to train other phone bank trainers and volunteers.  In 2017, the Marin for Hillary office became Democracy Action Marin where Sylvia continues as one of the leaders running weekly phone banks with her primary responsibility as Lead Phone Bank Trainer.

Also in 2017, Sylvia was invited to join the Rock the Congress Board. Her primary responsibility was as Co-Leader of Operations for the Marin Conference. In 2018, Sylvia joined the San Francisco Rock the Congress Steering Committee, and worked on the Agenda Committee. Sylvia and the founding members of Rock The Congress formed NorCal Blue Wave Alliance, and she now serves on its Steering Committee, the Tactical Team, and Steering Committee Liaison to it's Newsletter. Sylvia is also a member of the Marin Leaders Network.
